GM Dictionary: Philosophy #11
Hello all! Returning again with some more Game Master’s Dictionary, I wanted to cover a topic I always enjoyed in college: philosophy. Especially given my recent watch of The Good Place. Obviously this is a huge and complex subject and some of these will be a little tight on their definitions. Nevertheless, I hope these give you some things to think about or look into!
Consistency: This familiar word is important in philosophy and logic. In order for a conclusion to make sense there must be a consistency of rules, premises, and arguments. That is, no contradictions. Most of you TTRPG players will be especially familiar with the importance of consistency.
This is a mini-article series featuring short explanations for words more commonly used in RPGs (or potentially so!) than normal conversation. Each month will hold a different theme and each weekday will have a different word. Note: these are personal, simple breakdowns and not perfect. Please tell me if I am mistaken and I will work to correct it! For anyone looking for a collected work please check out our Patreon. All patrons get a PDF collected copy each month! Images used for the GM Dictionary are found on Pixabay and used under the CC0 licence, except this one which is from NBC’s The Good Place.
