GM Dictionary: Omens #7
It’s spooky season again!! This time we are delving into something fun: omens! A lot of these might be familiar, some might not. You might have completely different takes on these things happening where you are from. Nevertheless, omens are something interesting that can add a little bit of flavor to a new people or location in your setting. Over the course of the month we’ll be including everything from hints of what is to come to things that might be bad luck!
Itchy Ear: The phrase “are your ears burning” is related to an itchy ear being a sign that someone is speaking about you. Left ears indicate that the comments are good but the right means they are speaking ill of you.
This is a mini-article series featuring short explanations for words more commonly used in RPGs (or potentially so!) than normal conversation. Each month will hold a different theme and each weekday will have a different word. Note: these are personal, simple breakdowns and not perfect. Please tell me if I am mistaken and I will work to correct it! For anyone looking for a collected work please check out our Patreon. All patrons get a PDF collected copy each month!
