GM Dictionary: Medicine #21

This month the GMD will be taking a look at medicine. This will include all kinds of words, many of which are used on fairly regular basis in the world of D&D. But what are salves and poultices? This month let’s narrow it down a bit!

Bloodletting

The practice of cutting an individual or using leeches to let out dirty or diseased blood in large amounts so that the body would produce new, clean blood. Also used to balance humours if believed an individual had too much blood.

This is a mini-article series featuring short explanations for words more commonly used in RPGs (or potentially so!) than normal conversation. Each month will hold a different theme and each weekday will have a different word. Note: these are personal, simple breakdowns and not perfect. Please tell me if I am mistaken and I will work to correct it! For anyone looking for a collected work please check out our Patreon. All patrons get a PDF collected copy each month!
